What’s it like working with Coaching People? Here’s what our clients say:
“Whereas shadow coaching was a daunting prospect, I can say with relief that being coached by Sue was the most exhilarating, inspirational and transformative six months of my working life. The insights and challenges have enabled me to build better relationships with my Board, and encouraged me to engage with others on a deeper and more productive level. More importantly, I have achieved a higher sense of wellbeing even though our trading climate remains tough. In Sue I have my personal coach confidant who understands the daily pressures and demands faced by the busy CEO. Coaching People is an invaluable investment.”
“I'm amazed at my sense of freedom to be who I am, at the confidence I have in the both my business and personal relationships. Sue supportively yet unmercifully challenged me to see my words and actions for what they were, not what I intended them to be. She helped me understand the assumptions I made and the results I created with them, and then supported me in seeing things from a fresh perspective while attempting new approaches. The results have been huge and totally unexpected - a promotion, and the rekindling of friendships that had fallen by the wayside. I've been coached before but not like this!”
“Sue is a compassionate and gifted coach. Her firm, light-hearted approach made me trust her immediately. The rapport between us created an allowing in my mind - an opening to see myself and express myself and my issues in ways I was previously unable to. Sue invited me to think, act and even speak differently. To address emotions and see the big picture rather than getting trapped in the detail. Yes, this felt awkward at times but looking back, I wouldn’t change a thing.”
“Coaching People proved a constant source of support while I managed the first year of starting up a new consultancy business. This was not limited to providing a sympathetic ear off which I could bounce ideas, but included practical advice on dealing with the ups and downs of starting a new venture. Having exceeded plans for the business in the first year of operation, I entered the second with a confidence that we could continue to make the business work. I would not hesitate to recommend Coaching People.”
“After meeting numerous coaches with sterile, uninspiring approaches, something told me when I met Sue that she was the one who could really help me find the passion and purpose missing from my career. She’s helped me unearth many things about who I am and where I want to take my life and career that had somehow got buried in my ascent up the corporate ladder.”
“Sue and Jenny made these sessions fun and interesting. At first, the importance and deeper message written into the course material isn't entirely obvious, because you are enjoying the sessions too much. It isn't until later, that you realise just how much you have taken on board from the exercises and how much more professional you are because of them. However, that is only a small part of the whole experience. The course really does make you grow as a person and enables you to deal with stress and business/work related problems in a much calmer and practical way.
It gives you a sense of self-worth and an attitude that if you put your mind
to whatever task you undertake, you can achieve the desired result.”
“Coaching People have delivered two consecutive programmes for our organisation, exploring coaching principles and encouraging co-coaching amongst the staff receiving the training. Our two facilitators, Sue Bottomley and Jenny Bird, have been extremely supportive of everyone involved and have provided one-to-one coaching to complement the workshop sessions. These have been a valuable resource for individuals to work their way through difficulties faced both within and outside the workplace.
The workshops were very beneficial to me personally in encouraging a positive approach to challenges and developing a “can do” frame of mind. The highly practical sessions broke down barriers between participants and supported us in coaching each other, enabling individuals to work through problems more effectively and feel greater confidence in the solutions they choose . The greatest achievement I believe was that we broke down the inter-departmental issues through meaningful and powerful conversations – and we all feel good about this- a real win/win.”
It gives you a sense of self-worth and an attitude that if you put your mind

“When I first started coaching, I wasn't sure what to expect. Would it be
'airy fairy' and not really something I would be able to use? Would it be a
great tool that I could apply to my personal and work life or…. ? Having been
coached and acted as a coach to my colleagues I can now simply conclude that
coaching has given me more than I could have imagined. I now have
techniques, methods and tools that I can use in my life - not only at work.
Coaching has made me realise that I am responsible for progress in my career
and personal life. In short there is always an option or a choice that can
be made and I can make it happen. At work I have become a better negotiator
and more assertive as a direct result of coaching. My coaches have been
great, supportive and a real inspiration.
